Administration Officer Integrated Pediatric Pain&Palliative Care Full Time Job Summary This position will support the day to day work of Stad Center Pediatric Pain, Palliative, and Integrative Medicine Service at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, San Francisco. The mission of the program is to help children live as well as possible for as long as possible by integrating treatments aimed at promoting quality of life into UCSF's cutting-edge medical care. Through expert clinical practice, research, education and family support, The Stad Center strives to enhance families' strengths, the quality of their time together, as well as their capacity to cope with the illness, the child's end of life period and death. Responsibilities Managing daily administrative operations. Supporting the work of the Stad Center team members. Participating in collaborative efforts to develop, maintain and execute quality clinical practice, educational training, and research activities. Collaborating with the team to develop resources for programming as identified by clinical staff. Helping organize, implement and evaluate educational activities for health care staff. Maintaining and analyzing patient referral statistics as an indicator of program outcomes. Assisting with interview and survey-based research projects to assess families' needs and evaluate the effectiveness of program components. Maintaining the administrative tasks within the bereavement program, the bereavement database, and implementing family support programs. Required Qualifications BA/BS with a major in health science or related field and experience in administrative analysis or operations research, OR an equivalent of both. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access). Familiarity with governmental regulations in the area of human research, including IRB/CHR guidelines. Experience in managing program budget, including account reconciliation policies and procedures. Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy to ensure reliability of data and documentation of outcomes. Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously. Must be flexible, self-directed, and able to work independently. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of medical terminology and hospital organization systems. Experience, training or advanced degree in Public Health, Public Policy/Administration, or a health related field. Bilingual in Spanish/English. Previous experience working on a research project either in an administrative or research assistant capacity. Experience with professional writing, such as preparation of grants, marketing material, research summaries/reports.
