Student Employment at DigiPen is open to all currently matriculated students if they meet the qualifications for the job. Students may not work during any time when they have a class scheduled, a class is canceled, or a class ends early. Student workers must reside within the State of Washington. Remote work outside of Washington will not be permitted. Job Title: Student TA - ART-228 (Rossano), F24 Reports to: Alecia Rossano Class Times: T/Th 5:30-8:30 (could do one or both sessions) Essential Functions A Teaching Assistant (TA) is expected to assist the instructor in the classroom as requested by the instructor. Responsibilities will include equipment setup and/or operation, timing the model and running the lab session once per week. The TA will need to clean up and re-set the studio after each session. The TA will also need to help with answering student questions during labs, taking and logging attendance sheets, etc. TAs may be required to meet with students outside class to answer questions as needed. Other duties as assigned by instructor. Duties and Responsibilities Classroom set up and tear-down including sweeping/mopping as needed. Making copies for students. Administer the weekly lab session. Meeting students online or in person for tutorials, if required. Providing constructive feedback in the grading to the students. Time the model and rotate the dais. Take attendance and log attendance weekly. Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked. Qualifications/Competencies Have proven proficiency with the course material. Possess a positive attitude toward learning and a willingness to help others excel. Be comfortable interacting with other students on an instructional level as a mentor. Arrive on time and be prepared to attend with complete focus during work hours. Successfully completed ART-228 or ART-528 . Comfortable with multiple aspects of working with hands. Able to give critique in a professional manner. Reliable, punctual, and invested in the success of their fellow students. Be able to work independently. Be able to lift 50 pounds. Expected number of hours per week: 7 Wage Range: $16.28 - 17.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen. Requirements to Apply: Resume Current Semester Academic Schedule Working Conditions: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements: Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Have taken and passed ART-228 or ART-528 with a B or better.
