Objectives of this Role:
  • Support the division’s executive management by providing routine and ad hoc financial reports and historical financial analysis of project backlog and expenditures.
  • Assist with the utilization of this data to develop accurate financial forecasts.
  • Support project managers with project execution, interfacing with Division personnel, clients, and other SwRI administrations to resolve issues such as invoicing, client data requests, expedited purchases, etc.
  • Technically mentor the Program Management Office (PMO) group of four professionals who support the Applied Power Division’s projects through financial tracking and contract management support.
  • Oversee the Division's Government Property program which tracks project material and equipment supplied by or purchased under a government contract.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Regularly monitor SwRI status applications and personal emails to identify upcoming deadlines and any non-scheduled issues.
  • Supervise preparation of monthly financial reports and ensure they are reviewed for accuracy.
  • Be prepared to assist PMO personnel as necessary.
  • Monitor Division backlog, promotional efforts, and contract statuses; prepare financial data for presentation to executive management.
  • Monitor proposal preparation progress and status of current open proposals.
  • Manage the Government Property process; monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; annual inventories; self-inspection reports; all audits.
Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelors or a Masters in Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or related with related experience
  • 3-10 years: Knowledge of contract management, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and procurement and subcontract processes.
  • 3-10 years: Experience writing SQL queries and creating reports and charts (e.g. Microsoft SSRS, Power BI, Excel).
  • 3-10 years: Experience with MS Project app and web and related project scheduling concepts.
  • Must be reliable, flexible, and able to take initiative and follow through on assignments with limited supervision.
  • Experience with C# is a plus.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
