Position Summary The SBA Credit Analyst's primary focus is to assist in providing accurate, timely, and succinct credit underwriting to ensure compliance with SBA loan regulations. Duties&Responsibilities Responsible for the evaluation and underwriting of SBA loan applications to determine creditworthiness and compliance. Reviews and analyzes all customer financial information, recognizing trends that may impact repayment to ensure sound credit decisions are made. Interview borrower(s) in regard to loan request. Documents the detail and requirements of loan decisions, including conditions to close. Works with the Closing team for a smooth hand-off of the borrower to the next level in the SBA Process (submission and closing). If needed, assist in screen-out responses, credit addendums, and memos to the file. Successfully communicate with SBA via eTran to obtain a correct SBA Loan Authorization for each transaction. Maintains knowledge of Busey lending policies, risk rating requirements and compliance standards and gain a working knowledge of the SBA's SOP. Assist with Portfolio Management duties such as: monitoring monthly borrowing base reports Education&Experience Knowledge of: Experience with and working knowledge of the current SBA SOP Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to: Multi-task and work independently Analyze and solve problems Take independent action within established guidelines and develop new procedures and approaches when needed Perform duties under frequent time pressures Education and Training: Requires Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business or Finance. Requires 2-4 years of Commercial C&I experience and/or SBA experience. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
