Job Purpose: The Patient Concierge I is the first point of contact for patients and family members in the center. The Patient Concierge I is responsible for performing check in and check out duties in the reception area. Essential Functions: · Provides excellent customer service and communicates effectively. · Greets patients and family members; Provide forms and necessary paperwork for completion. · Enters, verifies and updates patient demographic and insurance information; Scans necessary patient documents. · Collects appropriate copays and previous balances; Collaborates with billing department on financial arrangements. · Maintains neat and well organized reception area and waiting room. · Performs end of day activities including reporting monies collected and cross checking superbills with schedule. · Obtains insurance verifications, preauthorization for radiology patients · Schedules and confirms patient diagnostic testing as directed on encounter form/super bill. · Submits charge slips to billing. · Provides patient with instruction for testing and appointments. Complies with HIPAA regulations and practice policies for the privacy and security of patient information; explain the law and company privacy policy to patients as needed, maintain appropriate documentation of access to medical records. · Regular attendance and punctuality. Maintains annual competencies and/or training. Performs other related work/duties as required and assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements · 1-3 years of telephone/receptionist experience. · High School graduate or equivalent required. · Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite. · Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary. Preferred Skills · Urology practice experience. · Oncology and/or Radiology experience. Required Competencies Excellent judgment, dependability, conscientious performance. Detail oriented.
