If so consider applying today to the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Continuous Improvement Services (CIS) Engineer role This team is dedicated to improving quality while increasing productivity, cost effectiveness, and safety in the Design/Technical, Operations, and Business Support Services communities. The Team's goal is to positively advance the NNL Horizon Planning efforts. The person selected for this position will assist in all aspects of continuous improvement and change management across NNL, as well as play a key role in enhancing the computer business infrastructure for the Quality, Performance and Improvement Department. Key focus areas will be, but not limited to the following: • Leading continuous improvement and change management initiatives (i.e., design of improvements, provide active facilitation of improvement teams, and assist teams in coming through change utilizing formal change management techniques). • Active participation and leadership in assisting NNL with achieving the company goals for continuous improvement (i.e., Horizon Planning). • Active team member of the NNL Continuous Improvement Lead Team. • Interact with all levels of the organization, including senior/executive management and leadership teams. • Utilize various continuous improvement tools (i.e., lean, change management, learning organization, and facilitation skills) to positively impact NNL's improvement culture. • Mentor other continuous improvement and change management practitioners in developing their skills. • Lead for developing and enhancing information infrastructure (i.e., SharePoint, webpages, metrics automation). Training and mentoring will be provided to develop continuous improvement and change management competencies. This position provides visibility and serves as a leadership development and career broadening opportunity. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE. Preferred Skills Green Belt certified. • Change Management Practitioner trained with experience utilizing formal change management tools to effectively implement improvement action plans to achieve desired results. • Demonstrated experience developing, integrating, and maintaining SharePoint sites and webpages. • Demonstrated skills with MS Excel and Power Apps/BI. • Demonstrated project management skills. • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively team with individuals, managers, and other organizations. • Experience with effectively communicating technical ideas/concepts in a clear and concise manner. • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently. • Demonstrated ability to think beyond current systems and requirements (i.e., innovative and creative). • Self-motivated with a positive team player attitude.
