As a Medical Assistant/EMT, you will be a vital part of our healthcare team. You will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and providing excellent care to our patients in a fast paced, high-energy clinical office environment. Your role with us is more than a career; it's an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve by providing uncompromising care, one patient at a time ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Prepare patient(s) for and assist with examination and/or treatment • Perform triage and obtain vital signs • Obtain and accurately document patient history in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a timely manner • Collect and maintain all patient and business documents while always maintaining confidentiality • Collect routine laboratory specimens including phlebotomy, urinalysis and/or oral swabs • Administer medications and non-intravenous injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous and/or intradermal) • Start an IV, place a catheter and perform splinting when needed/directed • Perform various clinical, aseptic and/or basic laboratory procedures • Document within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions timely and accurately • Train and assist with our Occupational Medicine service line utilizing our current EMR system, drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, respiratory fit, pulmonary function testing and/or abiding by the systems and/or protocols set forth by the company • Understand and enforce standard health care regulatory requirements • Responsible for quality assurance program for compliance with CLIA waived laboratory and patient result trackers • Always ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance • Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties; ability to operate all office medical equipment • Other duties as assigned EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT&QUALIFICATIONS: • Successful completion of a MA or EMT program from an accredited institution. If EMT, must be licensed in the state of Georgia • One year of relevant healthcare experience preferred; preferably urgent care or emergency department • We are willing to train stellar new graduates • Must be proficient in venipuncture and injections • Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, and physiology • Ability to travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care centers when needed PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Required to work 12 hours shifts, weekends and holidays • Required to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms throughout workday • Finger dexterity and hand coordination required • Occasionally required to lift moderate weight (20-40 pounds) • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or focus Your Invitation to Make a Difference - At Piedmont Urgent Care, we invite you to be part of something bigger, contributing to a purposeful endeavor that transcends the ordinary.
