Job Description Job Description Top Trust&Estates law firm located in Melville, NY is seeking a part time Legal Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate has 3-7 years of Legal Assistant experience within trust and estates supporting attorneys. The position is paying $30/hour and the company would like to hire ASAP. Responsibilities: Organize cases by setting up and maintaining files, monitoring calendars, and ensuring deadlines are met. Manage incoming calls, maintain client communication, and schedule meetings. Support attorneys with drafting, formatting, and editing legal documents. Perform straight typing and proofread work for accuracy before returning to attorneys. Manage attorney schedules effectively. Record attorney time entries using SurePoint. Scan and email documents as needed. Display patience, empathy, and professional maturity consistently. Foster a cooperative attitude with legal staff, peers, and administrators. Applicant Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of law firm experience with a focus on Trusts and Estates. Proactive and capable of preparing legal documents such as Wills, Trusts, Health Care Proxies, Living Wills, and Powers of Attorney, while providing comprehensive administrative support. Enjoy working closely with clients and their families, with a strong emphasis on detail and organization. Proficient typing skills, with excellent spelling, grammar, and organizational abilities; able to multitask and work independently or as part of a team. Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures. Excellent proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
