Job Description Job Description Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time, temporary to hire Legal Assistant or Paralegal with Patent Filing Experience. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Preparing and filing patent applications : Prepare and file patent applications with agencies like the USPTO or WIPO Researching : Conduct background research to help lawyers and clients decide whether to preserve a patent, file a new one, or assess a competitor’s infringement Communicating : Liaise with clients, attorneys, and patent office personnel, and respond to communications Maintaining records : Maintain detailed case records, including dockets, calendars, and deadlines Proofreading : Proofread legal documents and patent applications before filing Performing administrative tasks : Perform a variety of administrative tasks, such as processing invoices and billing Managing databases : Manage IP databases and records Skills: Ability to concentrate and be flexible with diverse tasks in a consistent and orderly manner in a fast-paced environment. Ability to quickly prioritize time-sensitive tasks and communicate effectively to determine same. Takes the initiative to ask clarifying questions or seek new assignments as needed.
