Job Title: Specialist, Electrical Engineering Job Code: 15750 Job Location: Fort Wayne, IN Job Description: This is an electrical engineering design position responsible for developing test equipment within the Space&Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment of L3Harris reporting up through the Systems Integration and Test organization. This team, located in the Fort Wayne, IN facility, is responsible for the design, build, and validation of custom test equipment. The test equipment is used to verify the function and performance of electro-optical imaging payloads also developed in Fort Wayne. Responsibilities will include test system architecture, design, and integration of various modules such as power, communication, or image acquisition modules into test racks and consoles. Developing custom cables and harnesses, circuit boards (analog and digital), or FPGA code will be required depending on the specific need. Additionally, developing design documentation and validation procedures will be required. This position will also require project management experience with multiple overlapping cost account responsibility for both labor and material. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for organizing team meetings to acquire and report out on weekly cost and schedule account status with the base program Integrated Product Team Leaders supporting the contract. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with team members in engineering, supply chain, and operations to achieve the contract / project goals. Essential Functions: Analog&Digital circuit design Developing custom cables and harnesses Developing design documentation and validation procedures Preparing and presenting technical presentations Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university 4 years of relevant engineering work experience Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. 1 years of leading projects with multiple cost accounts of labor and material as well as schedule oversight responsibility. 1 years of Analog&Digital circuit design experience Preferred Additional Skills: US citizenship Ability to work with Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. Strong lab skills that include hands-on build and debug of equipment, root-cause analysis Motivated and driven to meet project deadlines and commitments Ability to clearly communicate ideas, concepts, and designs both written and verbal Excited about learning new technologies Ability to work alone with little direction or as part of a team Willingness to reach out to people to understand expectations or requirements Ability to develop requirements, design specifications, verification documents, and other technical documents as needed Creative in solving problems within project constraints Willingness to gather necessary information to make an educated recommendation or establish a path forward Govt. Security Clearances a plus Experience or desire to lead technical teams Cost Account Management Experience Gain cooperation with regards to process improvement initiatives Familiarity with FPGA design a plus Develop and review electrical engineering documentation to ensure compliance to higher level specifications Ability to work with E-CAD tools Communicates within and outside of own function, business area, and parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) Space electronics design experience a plus
