About George Junior Republic: Established in 1992, Preventative Aftercare is committed to keeping families together by providing quality home-based services to at-risk children, youth, adolescents and their families in their homes, schools and communities. Position Overview: We are looking for community-based in-home Mental Health Workers and Mental Health Professionals (counselors) for the Community Based Program. George Junior Republic Preventative Aftercare is committed to assisting youth and families in establishing safety, permanency, stability and well-being. The Counselor in this distinct, mobile position will provide services and trauma informed care to a caseload of seven to ten families referred throughout the county for Children&Youth Services and/or Juvenile Probation. The Counselor will provide services within the community, schools and homes. Evidence based practices and various treatment modalities will be utilized to engage families. Collaboration with schools, mental health agencies, substance abuse services, public assistance programs and other community support organizations is a priority for the Counselor in this position. Requirements: Mental Health Worker (Counselor): Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. A minimum of two years' experience in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. Mental Health Professional (Counselor): Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. Professional licensure preferred, but not required.
