North End Music&Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) The North End Music&Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is seeking an instructor to teach the after-school dance program at our partner site, the Harvard Kent School in Charlestown for grades 3 - 6. The instructor should have experience with and love teaching elementary school. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organized, and is excellent at communication with both families and administration. NEMPAC encourages BIPOC, LGBTQIA, people with disabilities, and other communities historically underrepresented in arts administration spaces to apply. Teaching days: Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 - 5:30pm from November 4th - June 12th. Teaching Responsibilities: Teach engaging lessons for the Harvard Kent Dance Troupe with a focus on jazz, hip hop, modern/contemporary. Communicate effectively with families. Complete and submit curriculum template worksheet. Set up and clean up classroom space each week. Take attendance in each class. Ensure consistency in each student's learning. Attend occasional faculty meetings. Compensation: $60/hr. Employee/W2. Optional 401(k) enrollment with 4% employer match on your selected contribution. Qualifications: Shared values in inclusivity and accessibility to arts programming for all. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted. Skilled in dance education, with a focus on jazz, hip hop, contemporary/modern. Experience working with children in grades 3 - 6. 2 years of teaching experience, particularly in classroom/studio settings. Must be very well organized and have attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Be an energetic, creative, and outgoing individual.
