About This Role: The successful candidate will be able to handle various responsibilities, including data management and standard administrative duties. The candidate will work independently in a fast-paced law enforcement environment, compile information, prepare reports, and complete tasks within short deadlines. Responsibilities include: Assisting customers and other department staff with transactions requiring advanced knowledge and experience. Responding to requests for information, in person, via e-mail, and over the phone. Providing and explaining department policies, procedures, and regulations. Maintaining a stock of office supplies and placing supply orders when necessary. Assisting Department members involved in the Crisis Intervention Training Program (CIT) with logistical details for regular training classes. Assisting with the administrative needs of the Co-Responder Unit and Crossing Guard Unit. Assisting department staff with travel and training paperwork related to outside training requests. This position is currently within the Prince William County Police, Special Operations Bureau, located at 4379 Ridge Wood Professional Center, Suite 201, supporting Supervisors within the Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Program, Co-Responder Unit, and the Crossing Guard Unit. In this role, you will work with various titles, including Mental Health Clinicians, Crossing Guards, and Police Officers. The ideal candidate will maintain a professional demeanor and a positive work product in this environment. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or G.E.D and two (2) years of related experience providing administrative support services and coordination. Technical: The successful candidate will be able to utilize basic Microsoft Office products and other basic computer programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe. Preferences: Experience in a public safety environment. Experience with Microsoft Office Products. Special Requirements: All employees considered for hire by the Police Department are subject to a Polygraph Examination and a thorough background investigation. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm. Starting Salary Range: $31.44 - $36.98/hr.
