To learn more, visit: DigiPen Institute of Technology . We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the Physics department as Adjunct Faculty - Physics Laboratory Instructor/Physics Instructor. Ideal candidates will possess a Master's degree or above in Physics, Engineering or related area. The instructor is responsible for delivery of educational material, including lectures, as well as evaluation and review of students, via homework, exams, or other indices. Teaching assistants are available for large enrollment courses. Position: Adjunct Faculty – Physics Laboratory Instructor/Physics Instructor, Physics Department Term: Summer, 2023 (May 1st, 2023 - July 31st, 2023) Minimum Qualifications A Master's degree or above in Physics, Engineering or related area. Essential Functions/Duties Teach courses in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Prepare and submit (on Moodle) timely grade reports and other reports on student performance. Organize class activities, lab materials, demos and assignments. Relate assignments and tests to learning outcomes. Work with Student Teaching Assistants, supervising their punches and reviewing their weekly hours. Provide input, create and improve course materials. Offer weekly office hours. If applying for Physics Lab instructor positions: participate in weekly training sessions outside of class hours. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of the subject areas in which the individual is responsible for instruction. Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development. Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction. Knowledge of Windows and (if applying for Physics Lab instructor positions) ability to work with lab equipment, including software (PASCO) used for labs. Ability to hold online and/or in-person classes. The laboratory classes are always held in person. Qualifications include: Relevant academic experience and/or relevant industry experience. Skills in Word, PowerPoint, Moodle, MS Teams. Team player and ability to solve problems independently. Experience Level Teaching background or training experience.
