39905BR Requisition ID: 39905BR Business Unit: TSU Job Description: With general direction, performs basic to high complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, design support on site evaluations and/or other similar evaluations for water distribution and related water resources projects (ex; distribution system water quality; water supply planning and systems; climate change adaptation; integrated resource planning; irrigation; pressure conduits; resiliency and redundancy, etc.). Signs and seals designs and other work as necessary. Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff. Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs). Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices. Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs. Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Performs other duties as required. Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. Job Title: Water Resources Engineer/Modeler Group: WSO Employment Type: Regular Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 7 years of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Job Site Location: Texas - Houston Amount of Travel Required: 5% Assignment Category: Fulltime-Regular Visa Sponsorship Available: No - We will not support sponsorship, i.e. H-1B or TN Visas for this position Skills and Abilities: Expert knowledge in at least two of the following water distribution modeling platforms: Bentley (WaterCAD/WaterGEMS) Autodesk (InfoWater/InfoWater Pro) Aquanuity (AquaTwin Water) Expert knowledge of GIS software and practices. Expert knowledge of constructing, calibrating, and updating hydraulic models using GIS, billing, SCADA and other available data. Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design. Solid knowledge of hydraulics and water system planning as appropriate for technical work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Solid knowledge of other support tools such as mathematical models, scripting languages, etc. J-18808-Ljbffr
