Position Summary Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from the storeroom. Keep records and compile stock reports. Perform clerical work associated with the operation of the Prince William Water's warehouse. Demonstrates a commitment and supports a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. Position Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions Plan, organize, and participate in the work of receiving, storing, and distributing a large and varied stock of equipment, supplies, or parts. Maintain all stock items. Issue supplies to users. Inspect incoming receipts, inspect for damage, and the accuracy of counts and prices. Records and reports all discrepancies. Prepare and track outgoing shipments via UPS or freight companies following rules established by UPS or the Department of Transportation. Perform logistical support duties for all special events and training programs for the Prince William Water. These duties include food delivery, room set up, transportation of staff to an event, and other set-up duties. Maintain inventory and control records, including a perpetual inventory, and assist with periodic physical inventories. Organize and rotate stock to achieve optimum efficiency of space. Arrange for the storage and rotation of all archives. Prepare shipments for pick up via couriers. Based on a continuing study of needs, determines optimum inventory levels, establishing reorder points. Investigate inventory discrepancies. Contact vendors regarding purchases. Inspects incoming parts and supplies for quality and quantity. Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets for all items being stored. Perform routine maintenance of the warehouse. Participate in yearly physical inventory for the main warehouse and other Prince William Water facilities. Operate forklift and other material handling equipment. Operate a Prince William Water vehicle. May be deemed essential at any time. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Essential Skills and Experience Essential Competencies: Knowledge of modern storeroom and inventory practices; all types of materials and parts required for the municipal operation to which was assigned; applicable standard grades and qualities of equipment, materials, parts, and supplies. Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records. Minimum Education and Work Experience: High school diploma or GED. Prior knowledge of warehouse stores experience using automated inventory management software. Or a combination of education and experience as described above. Required Licenses/Certifications and Other Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license consistent with Prince William Water's policy requirements. Valid Forklift Operators Certification upon hire or required to obtain and maintain within 90 days of employment in this position. Minimum Lead/Supervisory or Management Experience: None.
