Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is excited to announce we are looking for a veterinary assistant to join our very busy Emergency department as we have an immediate opening on our daytime and swing schedule If you have veterinary experience and would like to be considered for an opportunity to work in a busy specialty and emergency hospital and learn how to become a technician, we want to hear from you About GSVS: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded veterinary specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Rehabilitation, and Ophthalmology. On any given day, you can expect to do the following as a veterinary assistant: Provide support to doctors and technicians Restrain patients for exams and procedures Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing Monitor and document patient’s vital signs Assist with obtaining radiographs Properly use and maintain hospital equipment Once these skills are mastered and trust with the team is built, with continued oversight and training, you can expect to begin learning how to: Perform medical math calculations Provide high level nursing care to all patients Administer medications Place IVCs and obtain blood samples from various access points About you: Willingness to work varied hours and schedules.
