Utility Operator - Biotechnologies - Raleigh, North Carolina - 18-Month Contract Our client, a global Pharmaceutical manufacturing organization, is looking for a talented Utility Operator to join their expanding team. With continued organizational growth and considerable investment across their portfolio and capital programs, this is an extremely exciting opportunity to contribute towards their brand-new manufacturing facility on the East Coast of the United States. Responsibilities: Operates and monitors utility systems, including compressed gases, cooling towers, plant steam, chillers, boilers, HVAC, fire alarm system, and utilities tank farm. Monitors equipment performance, conducts routine maintenance, troubleshoots issues, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Assists with analyzing data to identify areas of improvement, to implement energy saving measures, and to optimize utility usage to minimize costs and environmental impact. Performs basic and complex preventive maintenance on utility equipment. Responds to equipment failures promptly. Responds to emergency conditions, such as power outages, fire alarms, and critical equipment alarms. Operates and monitors site building management system (BMS) and Delta V. Performs and monitors chemical levels of boiler feed water, cooling tower water, and plant steam and adjusts water chemistry to maintain pre-established parameters. Requirements: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Knowledge of control systems. Effective communication, both written and oral. Ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies or other continuous improvement techniques. Must be able to work shifts. High School Diploma/GED. 4 years of experience in Utility Operations or a related field. Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Applied Engineering, or Industrial Technology or above. 5 years of experience in Utility Operations, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, or Industrial environment, or another highly regulated industry.
