Position Overview Salary range: Annual Salary Range $66,259-$186,446. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position Description The Department of Design Media Arts at UCLA is looking to hire temporary, part-time lecturers to teach during the 2024-25 Academic Year in various variable topics courses in the department. The courses listed require varied perspectives or pedagogy and as a result, the appointment will not be renewed: 160 Special Topics in Design Media Arts, 289 MFA Tutorial Topics, 404 MFA Tutorial, 403 Graduate Group Critique, and 130 Experiments in Virtuality. Specific topics may vary. Qualifications: BA required; MFA preferred; relevant professional experience. The Design Media Arts (DMA) undergraduate program emphasizes innovative creation with digital and mass media within the context of a public research university. The curriculum features a solid foundation in form, color&drawing, motion, typography, and interactivity, followed by a broad selection of area studies courses in video, visual communication, network media, game design, and narrative. The program culminates with the senior projects classes where each student defines his/her own senior project based on individual interests within the areas of interactivity and games, video and animation, and visual communication and image.
