Lead programs and ensure a high-quality experience for participants in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Create and foster a strong atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation among staff. Recruit, interview, and hire assigned staff, subject to the approval of the Senior Director. Maintain a constant focus on service as a top priority. Assist with the design, development, and implementation of Y-Achievers and 505 project. Supervise teenagers between the ages of 12-19 years. Facilitate weekly lesson discussions, lessons, and workshops. Oversee daily supervision, leadership, and scheduling of assigned staff. Problem-solve and work to find resolutions when requests or concerns arise. Ensure staff follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies. Assist in promoting program awareness through publications, marketing materials, and member promotions. May participate in community events. Assist in maintenance of equipment and weekly/monthly checklist reports. Assist with assigned activities. Attend all required meetings and YMCA activities (including SDT meetings). Perform other duties as assigned. Ensure a high level of service with a commitment to improving lives. Effectively tailor communications to the appropriate audience. Champion inclusion activities, strategies, and initiatives. Build relationships to create small communities. Provide staff with feedback, coaching, guidance, and support. Develop plans and manage best practices through engagement of the team. Hold staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress. Facilitate change; model adaptability and awareness of the impact of change. Utilize non-threatening methods to address sensitive issues and inappropriate behavior or performance. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. ASHI Basic Life Support (ASHI CPR Pro). 2 years of experience in program area, with the ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
