Technician 2, Installation and Service - Residential Services Apply locations: MA - Nantucket, 1 Monomey Rd Time type: Full time Posted on: Posted 2 Days Ago End Date: December 21, 2024 (26 days left to apply) Job Requisition ID: R399609 Job Summary Responsible for broadband installation and troubleshooting activities for voice, video, and data services. Completes field assessments, meets/exceeds company standards/metrics, and completes necessary certifications and education for current role and for consideration for advancement to the next level. Functions in an entry-level position, with an increasing degree of proficiency and decreasing degree of onsite supervision to complete installation and troubleshooting activities. Works on straightforward tasks using established procedures. Core Responsibilities Performs installations and changes of service, while adhering to company procedures and safe work practices, National Electric Code (NEC), and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements and local ordinances. Performs service calls. Troubleshoots the drop from the tap to the customer's equipment. Assesses and designs basic home networks using appropriate technology based on customer needs. Completes associated record keeping in a timely manner to ensure all details of the work are recorded for entry in the customer's account. Determines acceptability of service by reviewing and confirming quality based on results of applicable tests and adjusts or fixes service as needed. Determines appropriate placement of devices and design of Wi-Fi network in the home, considering Wi-Fi channels and interference. Communicates and engages with customers, providing education on products and services. Cleans, maintains, and stocks vehicle and equipment. Reports need for vehicle repair or service when required. Reconciles with warehouse regarding issued customer premise equipment (CPE). Operates and maintains installation tools and equipment. Demonstrates the ability to navigate digital tools including work order management and digital diagnostics. Obtains and maintains appropriate licensing and/or background checks based on requirements. Uses sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs jobs from high places, including climbing poles and using ladders. Lifts and carries loads of 70 lbs. or more, works in confined spaces, and performs work near power lines. Drives company vehicle safely during performance of duties and maintains a valid driver's license. Effectively communicates with customers and co-workers. Completes required training and passes certification tests within specified timeframe. Works in various weather conditions. Meets or exceeds established goals and performance metrics.
