Job Description

The Survey Crew Chief will have experience in land surveying and leadership. They will be responsible for ensuring accurate and complete data collection is performed for each survey project. Responsibilities: Perform construction layouts, topographic, boundary and ALTA surveys. Research projects for upcoming field date. Apply knowledge and experience to guide crew members. Utilize standard survey equipment, robotics, and GPS. Establish horizontal and vertical control. Perform data analysis and calculations pre- and post- field work. Supervise and train survey crew for safety and work production. Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers and may be involved with project management. Eventually provide quotes to potential clients for land surveys. Licenses: Driver's License (Required) Professional Surveyor License (Preferred, not required) Skills: Data Collector, Total Station, GPS, Field work, Data analysis, Documentation, Crew management, Project management, Land surveying, Leadership, AutoCAD (not required), Self-motivated, Detail oriented, Professionalism, Ability to work independently or collaboratively, Mathematic aptitude, Verbal and written communication skills Experience: 1-2 years in Land Surveying 1-2 years in Leadership Position Education: High school diploma or GED Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week) Shift and Schedule: Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility in hours permitted, but Survey Crew Chief should be available during the standard work hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional hours may be necessary depending on workload. An employee is regularly required to drive, stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds. An employee may also be required to traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions. Compensation: $35,000 - $50,000 depending on prior experience. Eligibility: Eligible candidates will be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
