Job Description Job Description DC SAFE is currently recruiting a Supportive Advocacy Team Manager. DC SAFE is the only 24/7 crisis intervention agency for domestic violence in Washington, DC. Our mission is to ensure the safety and self-determination of domestic violence survivors through emergency services, court advocacy, and system reform. The hours for this position is Monday - Friday, with occasional overnight/weekend shifts required when necessary. Location for this position: Domestic Intake Centers (NW&SE), DC SAFE Space Shelter, In Community, IN PERSON FULL TIME, and applicants must show they are fully vaccinated. The Supportive Advocacy Team Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations and function of Supportive Advocacy Team services and the Domestic Violence Intake Centers (DVIC). The manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the work of the Team, as well as addressing the everyday function and quality of services provided with a specific focus on intake center coverage. All applicants must show they are fully vaccinated. Programmatic Support and Function ● Support and oversee programmatic calendar. Ensure the schedule is up to date and coverage is coordinated. ● Coordinate and provide coverage of direct services when necessary for Supportive Advocacy positions when not supervising DVIC(s). Responsibilities include direct coordination with the Director to cover anticipated gaps. In-person staffing is required. ● Supervise DVIC(s) and coordinate day-to-day needs with Response Line Supervision and Shelter Staff. ● Ensure quality of SAT services and records through internal and external quality control measures. Report necessary information to the SAT Director. ● Supervise the implementation of new resources and ensure that the SAT staff are following established referral mechanisms and screening. ● Attend weekly shelter meetings in coordination with the Supportive Advocacy Team Director to assess clients exiting emergency placement and continuing with their primary SAT advocate for DC SAFE services. Program Management ● Provide daily function supervision as necessary for the Supportive Advocacy Team and the DVICs. This includes addressing scheduling concerns, providing backup coverage when available, and supporting on the ground decision making. ● Oversee day-to-day operation, including quality control around notes, service provision, and scheduling. Plans, monitors, and appraises work product. ● Provide direct supervision to SAT staff in collaboration with the SAT Director. ● Assist with monthly statistics for internal tracking and to share with our community partners in collaboration with the SAT Director. ● Assist SAT Director in preparing SAT Rotation schedules. ● Accomplishes Team objectives by supervising staff, organizing and monitoring work processes, and attending and occasionally running SAT bi-weekly meetings. ● Accomplishes staff results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Training ● Coordinate with and support the Training&Education Team in onboarding scheduling and content for new hires. ● Conduct outreach and education functions regarding DC SAFE Programing and domestic violence as needed, including traveling for in person training as necessary. ● Participate in training to enhance professional knowledge of intimate partner violence. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function (job duty) satisfactorily. Background and Experience ● 3-5 years of experience with crisis intervention and/or housing work. ● Applicants with mandatory 40-hour advocacy training completed preferred. ● Bilingual applicants welcome ● Experience with domestic violence issues and DC social service resources. ● Attention to detail and the ability to closely follow protocol and procedures is a must. ● Ability to work independently while maintaining a willingness to accept supervision. ● Ability to work in/with a dynamic evolving environment and client base. ● Familiarity with the online databases, internet searches, and Google Workspace ● Ability to identify gaps in services and move through them ● Resourceful, highly organized, critical and analytical thinker, self reflective and self-aware, and open to growth and learning. ● Experience working with law enforcement is preferred. ● Experience with the criminal and civil legal system preferred. ● Managerial Experience of staff is required Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
