The Supplier Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting food safety and quality assurance functions including: corporate policy governance, supplier quality program, facility and corporate third party certification programs, corporate food safety and quality program execution. This position will work closely with R&D, Procurement, Commercialization, Supply Chain, Operations, Field Quality, and Business Development. Job Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Manage items and suppliers including creating new items and suppliers, deactivating inactive items and suppliers. Establish and maintain connections with suppliers. Verify active status of items and suppliers matches ERP systems from all HFS plants. Review and approve supplier submitted documentation for compliance to established HFS requirements. Communicate directly with suppliers via email and/or phone calls to ensure supplier is fully compliant with HFS Supplier Approval Policy. Lead a team in performing ingredient hazard analysis of raw materials across multiple product platforms utilizing supplier submitted documentation along with regulatory resources. Work within SAP and ERP systems to add new raw materials, inspection plans, allergen requirements. Communicate with customers, certifying agencies, regulatory inspectors, and internal and external stakeholders. Assist in development of new quality systems, processes, regulatory systems, and personnel to obtain HFS business results. May be required to work weekends from time to time. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times. Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations as prescribed by law. Comply with all Company rules, regulations, and policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge of: Food manufacturing supply chain, procurement, and production processes. Knowledge and experience with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and Excel. Skill in: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong self-confidence. Strong will to drive change. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy. Accuracy, detail-oriented, and maintaining confidentiality. Collaborative relationships with industry, trade, other associations, regulatory agencies, and Hearthside staff. Leading ‘best in class’ behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policy focus. Ability to: Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Evaluate issues, recommend solutions, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness. Work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary. Handle multiple priorities and tasks. Excellent keyboarding, record keeping, and follow-up skills. Work in a fast-paced environment while making sound decisions. Influence without authority. Proficiency in: MS Office Suite, Excel, and SAP. Minimum Qualifications: 5 years of experience in Quality Systems or Quality Management or equivalent experience, with a proven record of effective communication skills, program development, and positive manufacturing results. Thorough understanding of quality management practices concerning product&packaging quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance. Proven knowledge of GFSI schemes and standards. HACCP Certified, PCQI Required. Experience with Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO preferred. Experience in contract manufacturing preferred.
