This opportunity entails being responsible for providing technical experience in structural engineering for architectural projects to serve the structural engineering efforts through all phases of HNTB’s complex building projects. Performs structural engineering tasks such as research for code and project criteria, design calculations, and detailing and design for buildings. Creates analysis models, hand calculations, drawings and performs design engineering during all phases of design, including construction administration. What You’ll Do: Provides structural engineering analysis and design of building structures including sport facilities, airport facilities, transit facilities and more in support of HNTB’s national architectural practice. Provides structural engineering analysis and design of framing and foundation systems for steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, and wood building frame systems. Performs structural engineering services during the construction phase such as responding to construction questions, review of contractor submittals and construction site observations. Prepares design drawings and/or specifications. Collaborates with structural engineering peers and teammates to leverage experience and learning to enhance the creativity and success of the structural practice. Develops creative structural design solutions from concept design through final design. Coordinates and works with structural engineering project teams including other structural engineers and BIM technicians. Performs other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience. What You'll Bring: Good knowledge of building codes and design standards. Proficiency in Steel and Concrete Design. PE and/or SE. Good problem solving skills. Good knowledge of connection design and detailing. Good communication skills. What We Prefer: PE. SE. Master's degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with primary focus on structures. Experience with structural analysis software such as RISA, ETABS, SAP 2000, ADAPT, etc. Additional Information Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Locations: Kansas City, MO, Los Angeles, CA (Figueroa Street) The approximate pay range for Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA is $91,259.50 - $142,739.20. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
