Job Description: Sterile Processing Technician Location: 275 Sandwich St, Plymouth, MA 02360 Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension Shift: Evening Shifts (5x8s) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in Plymouth, MA. This position is crucial in maintaining the safety and functionality of all medical equipment and instruments used in patient care. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will ensure that all instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and organized for use in surgeries and medical procedures. The position is for 13 weeks with a possibility of extension, working 5 evening shifts per week (5x8s), for a guaranteed 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: Sterilize, clean, and disinfect medical instruments and equipment following established protocols. Inspect, test, and ensure the proper functioning of medical devices and equipment before usage. Properly organize and label sterile supplies for use in operating rooms and other clinical areas. Maintain a clean and organized sterile processing environment in compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of sterilized instruments and supplies and report any shortages or needs. Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with infection control guidelines. Follow all hospital policies and procedures for proper handling and storage of sterilized instruments. Work closely with surgical teams and other departments to ensure timely delivery of sterilized equipment for medical procedures. Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or in a similar role. Certifications: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification is required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. COVID-19 vaccination card (proof of vaccination) is required. Skills and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques and procedures. Familiarity with medical instruments and equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor. Additional Information: This is a full-time position offering a guaranteed 40 hours per week, with evening shifts and the possibility of contract extension beyond the initial 13 weeks. Compensation and benefits are competitive and based on experience.
