Who We Are: Project Planning&Control (PP&C) Planner / Earned Value Management section are highly trained and skillful in the use of Industry Standards applicable to project planning, scheduling, project controls, and leading validated earned value management application and implementation across Space Sector contract projects and science missions while serving NASA; DoD; and private sector contracted endeavors. Objectives of this Role: Provide planning skillset to Space Science Instrumentation, Avionics, and Spacecraft engineering development projects. Provide professional Planner skillset with the development and maintenance of detailed, intermediate, and top-level integrated schedules in accordance with current best practice industry standards (e.g., GAO; DoD; DoE; NASA). Develop schedules with adapted work breakdown structure (WBS) that encompasses the life-cycle developmental processes or aerospace hardware and software elements. Provide an independent assessment of project element performance trends and forecasting of remaining scope of work. Provide direct lead support to Project Management on Schedule, Performance Measurement, and Estimate at Completion. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Attend and participate in assigned project team meetings (internal and external); and direct customer interaction pertaining to schedule and Earned Value Management. Gather, incorporate, and report on schedule information regarding quality and performance assessments. Meet and communicate on a recurring basis with staff members acting as leads, control account managers (CAMs); deputy project managers, project managers, and others who are supporting assigned project(s) to facilitate situational awareness. Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree in Business Management or other degrees will be considered with 3-5 years of Project Planning related experience. 3 years: Hands-on experience with project planning and scheduling using schedule software tools (e.g., MS Project; Primavera); following scheduling processes to achieve high product quality and accuracy; and applying Industry/Government standards. 3-5 years: Adept and knowledgeable with executing Project Planning process, and within a monthly rhythm, pertaining to WBS and Dictionary formulation preceding schedule construction; and the implementation, application, and use of a work breakdown structure (WBS). 3-5 years: Intermediate knowledge of business management principals and application; contract and subcontract management, and procurement processes. Knowledge of various engineering discipline developmental processes would also be useful. 2-3 years: Knowledge and some background familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and System (EVMS) application with Project Management; and EIA-748 application. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
