Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School - South Easton, Massachusetts Special Education Paraprofessional Job Details Job ID: 4786453 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Sep 5, 2024 Starting Date: Immediately Job Description The special education paraprofessional provides direct support services to students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in the general education setting under the consultation of the special education teachers and in collaboration with general education teachers. Professional Responsibilities: Consult regularly with special education teachers in collaboration with general education teachers to identify appropriate instructional strategies and support for students on IEPs. Provide targeted support based on the individualized needs of each student in the general education setting. Communicate regularly with each student’s special education liaison on student performance. Implement data collection procedures to support special education liaisons with progress monitoring. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or principal. Qualifications: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; AND an Associate (or higher) Degree, OR completion of 48 credit hours at a higher education institution, OR completion of one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed assessments: Parapro or WorkKeys. A genuine passion for working with a diverse student population with the goal of helping all students succeed. Strong organization skills. Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of professionals. Experience working with individuals with diverse needs.
