\nThe annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.\n

\nWhat Will You Do?\n
\n
\nA key objective for the individual in this role is to accelerate our modernization of Personal Insurance Policy Platforms.\n
\nThey should be able to collaborate and learn from technology and business partners regarding the current landscape of policy processing.\n
\nThey will create actionable architectures that will enable other applications (e.g. Front ends, Middle tier, Data & Analytics) to integrate seamlessly with the Policy systems.\n
\nThey will create modernization roadmaps for policy systems, aligned with the target states defined for Personal Insurance and Travelers as a whole.\n
\nLeads technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions\n
\nHands-on prototyping of new technology solutions\n
\nPartner with Software Engineering to execute proof of technologies\n
\nProvides architecture direction for engineers in support of a technical pattern\n
\nDisplays strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology modernization\n
\nDrives continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt\n
\nCreate a partnership with Software Engineering\n
\nLooks for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise\n
\nParticipates in defining target state technology architecture and roadmaps\n
\nEnsures alignment of IT initiatives with the target state\n
\nBuilds strong partnership with engineering to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology direction\n
\nContinuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture\n
\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n
\n
\nWhat Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?\n
\n
\nBachelors in technology related field or equivalent with 4+ years of technology Engineering experience\n
\nStrong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, etc.\n
\nCurrent experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps\n
\nCloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on Cloud\n
\nGood understanding of security\n
\nPrior experience with Insurance domain preferred.\n
\nAbility to create actionable design patterns and architectures within complex technology landscapes.\n
\nOrganizational experience in an agile operating model\n
\nEstablished work in proof of concepts and technology\n
\nStrong proven Software Engineering experience\n
\nSupports technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goals\n
\nInsurance technology experience desired\n
\nStrong grasp of value creation and business capability models\n
\nInnovation and Continuous Improvement\n
\nMust be passionate about technology transformations\n
\nHas hands on experience in the last 3 years\n
\nExecuted technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API Strategy\n
\nExperienced with large scale technology platforms\n
\n
\nWhat is a Must Have?\n
\n
\nBachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.\n
\nFive years of experience in engineering software or analytic applications within a line of business area\n
\n
