Job Description Job Description TITLE: Site Lead (Part-time, non-exempt) DEPARTMENT: Programs SALARY RANGE : $26 per hour, 30 hours per week REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Coaches , Director of Program Services&Site Principals PRIMARY FUNCTION: Directly responsible for overseeing operations at assigned elementary, middle, or high school before or after school program. Site Leads are responsible for the supervision of the Youth Development Professionals, the development and implementation of daily activities, the scheduling of staff members, and for assisting with administrative duties. They ensure the safety and quality of their before or after school program in all aspects. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise Youth Development Professionals and be a highly effective manager and leader. Ensure site safety in all situations, including ensuring that site is prepared for proper response to all emergency situations. Monitor and oversee all staff members, youth participants, and program activities. Properly document all activities, policies, procedures, and reports according to CDE, district, and organizational standards. Assist with the coordination of staff involvement, daily activities, field trips, etc. Maintain positive relationships with all staff members, youth participants, school employees, and families. Ensure staff are meeting essential job duties and creating safe experiences for youth. Communicate regularly via telephone, email, and in-person with various stakeholders such as staff members, school employees, and families in a positive and effective manner. Responsible for leading site in effective behavior management techniques that align with School District and Boys&Girls Clubs philosophies, policies, and procedures. Develop and implement a high-quality program for all youth members, in accordance with Boys&Girls Clubs standards and the formula for impact. Plan, organize, and implement age- appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities in a variety of indoor/outdoor settings. Assist as needed with all required paperwork and administrative tasks, including student applications, attendance sheets, snack counts, sign-in sheets, and other needs as required. Attend all required trainings and staff meetings. Demonstrate effective problem solving when challenges arise. Required to attend Site Lead scheduled meetings throughout the year and complete Site Leader’s Academy within their first year of employment. Ensure program staff supervises all students at all times, from dismissal every school day until their signing out to go home and ensures staff will protect the health, safety, and well-being of all students during all activities in all environments. Site Leads are be expected to turn in a copy of their planned drills to their school site principal by the first day of school and ensure all staff is knowledgeable and prepared to implement emergency procedures pertaining to “Fire Drills”, “Earthquake Drills”, “Lockdowns”, “Lockouts”, “Restraining Orders”, and “Evacuation Drills” effectively. Responsible for students who are late being picked up and to follow the late pick up procedures. Other duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Be a leader and role model in the Boys&Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside team and in the community we serve. May oversee special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other Club-wide activities as necessary. May be required to drive Club van periodically. RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Director of Program Service, Program Service Coordinators, Site Leads, Youth Development Professionals. External: Expanded Learnings Program Staff, District Staff, School District Site Staff (Principals, Nutrition Services Staff, Office Staff, etc.), other key Unified School District staff, School Teachers, other key community partners. QUALIFICATIONS: Required – High School Diploma or GED Required – Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university (or commensurate experience in field) Required – Ability to pass Background Checks, Drug Screen, and Employment Physical Required – Valid State Driver’s License or California ID Card Required – Reliable transportation. Required – First Aid/CPR Certification (we will train) Required – At least two years working in youth development field. Preferred – Clean DMV record and able to drive a BGC van. Preferred – At least one year managing teams. Preferred – Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. This position will have a variety of working conditions, including: Office Work (approx. 15%) Direct Services/Field Work (approx. 85%) Shifts will be Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend trainings required. Exact shift time will depend on school site placement Sunrise Site Leader shift is 7:00am-1:30pm After-School Site Leader shift is 12:00pm-6:30pm. At times, may be responsible for lifting up to 20 pounds in preparing materials for various tasks. Candidate will need to have reliable transportation throughout the San Bernardino area. Commitment to Safety (first disclaimer, end of this section) Contribute to environment of safety through the learning and implementation and monitoring of all safety-related best practices, policies, and procedures. Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to all safety rules and practices and proactive communication among members, parents, peers, and leadership. Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training. Complete training and participate in all Emergency Preparedness protocols including drills and communication practices.
