The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Signal Integrity Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Day-to-day involvement with the Signal Integrity Lab, including technicians and resources for characterizing high-speed interconnects. Analyze signal integrity data and generate reports demonstrating interconnect performance relative to customer and industry standards. Lead root cause analysis and correction of signal integrity performance failures. Perform signal integrity design simulations related to connectors, cables, and pc boards in support of high-speed interconnect product development and SI test vehicle construction. Participate in cross functional new product development teams to provide signal integrity engineering support. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physics (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution. Five (5) years of industry experience with an understanding of signal integrity, transmission lines, and electromagnetics (Including signal integrity measurements using a VNA&TDR equipment) in a private, public, government or military environment. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Masters degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physics with preferred emphasis on Signal Integrity. Familiarity with processing S-parameters, performing time domain conversions, analyzing crosstalk behavior, and generating eye diagrams. Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave Studio, HSPICE, MATLAB, Keysight PLTS, and Keysight ADS. Experience laying out high-speed pc boards in Cadence Allegro or similar design tools. Ability to create CAD models and drawings.
