I. General Summary: The Senior Systems Programmer (SSP) will provide programming support in Sales, Post-Sales, and Implementation capacities for Audiovisual Technology Solutions. This includes basic to advanced secure visual information systems for multi-domain government environments, including, but not limited to, command and control centers, auditoriums, multi-purpose training rooms, conference rooms, and offices. The SSP will engage in system programming of varying complexity from single room projects to larger multi-building multi-system enterprise programs and specialized advanced visual environments. The SSP must be capable of validating and commissioning integrated systems, quickly and effectively diagnosing complex issues related to supporting AV/IT hardware and taking appropriate corrective actions. Hiring range is $110,000-$130,000. This position requires up to 50% travel. II. Authority/Clearance: This position does not include supervisory responsibilities. Secret Security Clearance and the ability to be cleared to Top Secret required. US Citizens, Non-Felons. Ability to pass a limited federal background investigation. III. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: User interface design and code development for AMX control systems with advanced automations. Programming advanced secure visual information systems for government clients that comply with Information Assurance (IA) requirements and restrictions. Programming and configuration of enterprise monitoring, management, and control utilizing Extron or AMX RMS. Performing end-user training on basic to advanced system operation. Developing training curriculums for enterprise and large program system implementations. Drafting of system documentation including detailed user manuals and quick start guides for end-user system operation. Audio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) configuration development, deployment, and adjustment. System commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance on an as needed basis. Assist with system solutioning utilizing optimal and innovative technical approaches to meet customer needs. Participate in the development and testing of innovative system design and control approaches within a system lab environment. Needs analysis through onsite customer meetings, remote conferences, and review of customer solicitations (e.g., RFQ, RFP) on an as-needed basis. Drafting of thorough detailed documentation of customer requirements and expectations when necessary. Site surveys to ascertain environmental considerations in solutions development including, but not limited to, room measurements, furniture layout, existing infrastructure, and ceiling obstructions on an as-needed basis. Continuing education and certification from vendors including, but not limited to, Crestron, AMX, Extron, and QSC to ensure application of current best practices and technical approaches are implemented in system programming. Mentorship and training of junior team members. IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Min. ten (10) years' experience in audiovisual system programming. Knowledge of user interface design best practices. Knowledge of Crestron Fusion or AMX RMS platforms. Knowledge of basic Project Management practices. Knowledge of basic to advanced secure system programming practices for multi-domain government environments. Knowledge of intermediate data networking principles and best practices. Knowledge of best practices in the design and implementation of Audiovisual systems for government and commercial clients are beneficial. Experience with various audiovisual technologies including, but not limited to; flat panel and rear projection display systems; wireless microphone, multi-zone distributed loudspeakers, voice-lift and mix-minus audio systems; audio and video teleconferencing system endpoints; wireless and network integrated control systems; traditional multi-media digital audiovisual signal transport. Knowledge of AVoIP principles. Skill in AMX Netlinx and/or Java programming. Skill in Audio DSP configuration including, but not limited to; leveling and routing; file building; EQ/filtering; logic and control. Able to understand architectural and engineering drawings and schematics. Able to effectively capture, analyze, and clarify customer needs through verbal and written methods. Able to ascertain customer needs by eliciting information through various means of communication. Able to manage time, focus, and efficiently multi-task with fluid deadlines. Detail oriented, thorough, and organized with sound judgement and decision making. Able to develop and maintain working relationships with customers, co-workers, and vendors. Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision, effectively collaborate within a team, take direction, and execute company mission and initiatives. Able to recognize, analyze, and solve technical problems through critical and strategic thinking. Able to troubleshoot minor to advanced system functional issues. Able to train and develop junior personnel. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards is beneficial. Knowledge of AVIXA and AQAV AV9000 performance and quality standards is beneficial. Skill in drafting formal written standard operating procedures and processes is beneficial. V. Education&Certification: BS/BA or equivalent education&experience. Avixa CTS certification. AMX Solutions Master (ASM). Extron certifications including DMC-E-4K, DM-NVX / DM-NVX-N, CNS-D. And/or AMX Certifications: HCCP-D, HCCP-P, HCCP-M. Other AMX trainings and certifications are beneficial. Biamp Tesira and QSC Q-SYS Levels 1&2 certifications and training. COMPTIA Security certification. COMPTIA Network and A certifications preferred. Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP) are beneficial. SynAudCon certifications and training beneficial. VI. Language Skills: Knowledge, understanding, and skill in reading and writing the English language. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and management. Ability to convey a professional and positive image to customers and employees. Excellent oral and written communication skills. VII. Mathematical Skills: Knowledge and skill in basic arithmetic and algebra. VIII. Software Proficiency Desired: Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook). Microsoft SharePoint is beneficial. Adobe Reader and/or Bluebeam Revu. Biamp Tesira and/or QSC Q-SYS designer. DM Tools or AMX equivalent. AMX Netlinx Studio and TP Design or Crestron equivalent. IX. Requires the Ability to Operate Equipment such as but not limited to: Equipment used on Job. Computer. Office equipment. Fax Machine. Cell Phone. Broadband Internet access including router and LAN. Copier. Scanner. Automobile. X. Working Conditions: This position may require CONUS and OCONUS travel up to 20% of the time, typically, in 1-2 overnight stretches up to one week. On occasion, travel of 2-3 weeks may be necessary to support system commissioning on larger projects. Primarily business and finished office environments with occasional visits to unfinished construction sites. Must be able to handle criticism and remain calm and effective in highly stressful situations. Requires persistence in the face of obstacles and challenges. Requires standing and sitting for periods of time for computer-related and filing work. May require light lifting of boxes for shipping and receiving or files.
