ICF is currently hiring a Senior Quantitative Manager to join our team. The Senior Quantitative Manager will join ICF's teams that work with clients to understand and keep pace with the rapidly changing energy markets. This position is ideal for someone looking for a challenging but rewarding work environment, doing hands-on work developing, implementing, and utilizing new models and methods for energy market analysis, while interacting with subject matter experts across ICF and with various clients, many of whom are major players in the energy sector. This role requires a deep understanding of software programming, database modeling, data architecture, and power systems. As part of the role, you will: Work with long-term fundamentals-based production cost&power flow models related to the U.S. wholesale power markets. Evaluate changes to regulations, policies, and market designs to reflect their impacts in various energy system models. Lead the efforts for warehousing data from various public and internal sources, using RESTful methods and cloud services to orchestrate regular updates. Design and implement new models, platforms, and methodologies to capture market developments and to keep up with changing client needs and requirements. Incorporate new and innovative techniques, leveraging the latest technological advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and enabling them through cloud computing. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues for the team. Communicate new developments and insights to both internal and external audiences. As a Senior Quantitative Manager, you will have: Ability to understand and work with complex technical concepts, while also being able to communicate them effectively to a non-technical audience. Experience in managing a team of software engineers for implementing the technology platforms and models for business requirements. Strong analytical skills and capabilities and a proven track record in developing and implementing quantitative models. Experience in programming models in languages such as Python, R, etc. for data processing analytics at a distributed scale. Ability to execute complex queries and understand Stored Procedures in SQL. Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure). Strong organizational and project management skills (including platforms like JIRA). An enthusiasm for continual learning and staying UpToDate with new cloud technologies, ETL methods software solutions. Minimum qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in operations research, applied mathematics, engineering, economics, or another similar quantitative focused subject AND 5 years of professional experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing OR Master’s degree in operations research, applied mathematics, engineering, economics, or another similar quantitative focused subject AND 2years professional experience. 2 years managing and supervising technical teams 2 years’ experience with power market modeling approaches and tools (e.g., PROMOD, Plexos, or any other Production Cost Model&Power flow modeling tools like PSLF, PSSE, TARA etc.) 2 years’ experience in managing structured and unstructured databases, optimizing for efficient query performance and storage Preferred qualifications: Experience with simulation and stochastic modeling. Experience with analyzing production, outage, and other risk drivers typically associated with an energy modeling system. Demonstrated experience in setting up standards or measures for quantifying risk in SCED models Experience in working in the Azure cloud environment, running ETL operations using DataFactory, Batch processing of data at distributed scale ICF offers a competitive benefits package and talent development programs, and fosters a highly skilled, energized, and empowered workforce. Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $115,889.00 - $197,011.00 Virginia Remote Office (VA99)
