Job Description
The Senior Counsel at the client will report directly to the General Counsel and provide legal advice on commercial banking transactions, vendor contracts, litigation matters, legal and regulatory requirements, and corporate governance issues. Responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex legal documents related to commercial banking, credit, and vendors. The Senior Counsel will work closely with business lines to identify and mitigate business, legal, and regulatory risks, as well as assign, monitor, and provide guidance to outside counsel handling commercial transactions and litigation. Additionally, they will review, draft, and update internal policies and procedures.Overall, the Senior Counsel role at the client involves providing legal advice and services to management and business departments on a variety of legal matters. This includes ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as overseeing commercial banking transactions, vendor agreements, and litigation matters. The Senior Counsel will play a key role in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents, as well as working closely with business lines to manage and mitigate risks effectively. Additionally, they will be responsible for assigning and monitoring outside counsel, as well as reviewing and updating internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
