Job Title: Senior Accountant Job Objective: Responsible for assigned areas, accountant analysis, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. This position will have the opportunity to work on special research projects and improve processes creating efficiencies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a business field with an accounting emphasis and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience OR Eleven (11) years accounting experience Non-profit, healthcare environment experience preferred Superior analytical, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills while maintaining customer focus Proven problem solving and financial analysis with the ability to multi-task meeting established deadlines Proficiency with computer applications specifically Microsoft Office Suite and Blackbaud Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Essential Responsibilities: Provide business support and partnership to Vice Presidents, budget managers, and programs for relevant financial analysis, forecasting, and metrics for benchmarking and assessing financial viability. Serve as business partner as requested to align financial needs of programs with business functions and to manage finance-related activities, including budget development and oversight to monitor and enhance financial performance. Prepare reconciliations for various accounts and monitor these accounts monthly ensuring financial statement integrity. Research and resolve related issues. Prepare assigned audit schedules and work papers including account fluctuation analysis. Gather required information for assigned research projects and develop potential solutions for relevant issues. Prepare general ledger entries as required for areas of responsibility. Work as a team player with a focus on the organization’s mission/vision and values. Continually review and refine procedures and processes to create efficiencies and enhance effectiveness.
