Join our team as a Safety/Loss Control Specialist , where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of employees across the Departments of Health, Health Facilities, and Human Services. This dynamic position involves administering a comprehensive occupational safety program that meets both federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities: Conducting in-depth safety surveys. Analyzing loss data. Developing proactive safety solutions to minimize risks. Designing and delivering training programs tailored to specific safety needs. Working closely with teams to expedite workers’ compensation claims and manage Return to Work programs. Leading safety committee meetings. Ensuring compliance with Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting. Collaborating on safety improvement initiatives. Traveling to various settings as required. Preference will be given to candidates with Safety and Loss Control experience or degree. Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. OR Substitution: Experience as described below may be substituted for the required training at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) semester hours of education. AND Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience related to safety and loss control. OR Substitution: Master's degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the two (2) years of experience required. OR Certification: Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certification as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associated Safety Professional (ASP), or an Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM) may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
