Mercy Hospital Washington Department: Emergency Department Status: PRN Shift : Varies BeAMercyNurse Expectations/Incentives: Shift Differentials PRN co-workers are expected to work a minimum of thirty-six (36) hours per six-week scheduling period as outlined in Mercy’s scheduling timeline PRN co-workers will accept these shifts during self-scheduling. One twelve-hour (12) shift of weekend time per schedule (Friday 3 pm to Monday 7 am) Holidays 1 summer and one winter twelve-hour (12) shift Overview: 26 bed unit- provides excellent care to our community 24/7. We are a highly motivated, hardworking, extreme team focused and talented group of coworkers. Opportunity to care for a large variety of illnesses and injuries given there are no other trauma rated or pediatric specific emergency departments in our immediate area. Nurse to patient ratio is generally 1:4 for nurses. We do have patient care technician, paramedics and patient support associates as part of our care team as well. Qualifications: Education : Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. Physical requirements/demands : Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties Certifications : ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire Other unit specific certifications as required or or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
