Retail Operations Manager in Training Nouria Energy Corporation is a multi-generational family-owned wholesale fuel distributor, convenience store operator and car wash operator in New England. We are ranked within the top 50 largest convenience store chains in the country, operating 150 company-operated locations throughout New England. GENERAL SUMMARY The management trainee's primary responsibility is to participate in training experiences, learn new skills, and demonstrate increasing proficiency and expertise with managerial responsibilities. The management trainee program will prepare the trainee for decisions in people management, operations management, and merchandising management when assuming the role of store manager. The MIT assists the Store Manager in all aspects of daily shift management. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists Store Manager in daily shift management, including customer relations, inventory control, and visual merchandising. Maintains both individual and shift sales. Provides daily shift floor coverage. Trains Sales Associates. Supervises POS. Provides security&loss prevention in store. Maintains company standards regarding personal and store sales/performance metrics. Stocks shelves and refrigerated coolers. Assists manager in minimizing cash and inventory loss. Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws. Shadows manager in day-to-day operations. Customer Service Provide the best customer experience to every customer. Greet every customer with a smile and sincere greeting. Suggest possible purchases to customers and promote specials. Assume full responsibility for the execution of Nouria’s customer service program at the site level. Safety&Station Appearance Minimize safety risks to employees, customers, and suppliers. Ensure all site employees are adequately trained on safety policies and procedures. Maintain safety and security of the store and document any accidents or incidents. Manage the maintenance of the customer environment inside and around the perimeter of the store. Operate all assigned equipment safely and efficiently. Support implementation of the Nouria Safety and Health program. Report and investigate workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses. Complete new employee safety orientation procedure. Regularly inspect stores for workplace hazards and initiate corrective action. Encourage employees to report unsafe conditions or work practices. QUALIFICATIONS: 1 year of supervisory experience in convenience store, retail, fast food, or restaurant operations. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, and organized. Outgoing personality and approachable demeanor. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Availability for nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Ability to lift, pull, and/or push up to 30 lbs. Successful completion of certification testing as needed. Understanding of customer service importance and commitment to delivering superior experiences. Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Excellent communication skills are essential. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ensures physical maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of all store facilities. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times. Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the store. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged periods of standing and working at a cash register.
