Quality Control Technician Cortland, Illinois, 60112 Shift Timings: Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30 pm Pay Rate: $23/hr - $25/hr Summary: The QC / Lab Technician is an hourly position responsible for daily quality tests to certify product compliance. This role also supports R&D sample production, testing, and data collection. The QC/Lab Tech will maintain a safe and clean lab environment and manage all lab/test equipment calibrations and maintenance. This role will execute R&D test plans and document results in preferred formats. Responsibilities: Collects Polyol production samples from blending tanks and performs QC Cup tests to ensure product quality. Upon approval of production batch sample, prepare production release package (Lot Labels, Product Labels, Pallet Weight Sheet) and hand off to production as part of the quality release. Systemically close out finished production batches, verifying raw material accuracy, product lot , drum weight, and yield. Performs moisture, density, specific gravity, titration, and rate of rise tests on all polyol samples. Performs all incoming bulk raw material sample testing on FTIR unit; compares sample characteristics to historical data. Maintains production sample retains. Supports R&D through qualitative analysis and DOE’s. Occasionally mix small lab batches for testing. Conducts various tests on new R&D product samples. Prepares SPF spray samples for third-party testing. Manages lab equipment calibration and PM’s and overall lab housekeeping. Escalate failed production samples to R&D team for quick resolution. Assist R&D engineer in quality complaint investigations; submit findings to technical team. Maintain lab consumables inventory. Prepares R&D samples for spray-ups. Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have proven understanding of basic chemistry. Must have knowledge of chemical safety. Must have demonstrated ability to work with basic and sophisticated lab equipment. Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations. Must be able to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Must be able to comply with all safety/work/procedures, rules, and regulations. Willingness to pursue a CQT certificate. Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required. 12 months minimum in a lab environment. Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment. J-18808-Ljbffr
