Psychiatry Triage Medical Assistant Reports to: Psychiatry Triage Supervisor Position Status: Non-exempt Position Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) is an experienced delegate member of the healthcare team that works to support the organization’s mission, vision, values and standards of care. The MA supports the psychiatric mediation management functions of the clinic, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in a collegial fashion, maintaining the MA Scope of Practice. Key Interfaces: Psychiatry Triage Nurse Team, Psychiatry operations team, Psychiatry Triage Coordinators, Psychiatry Providers, Patients, Pharmaceutical&Insurance representatives, and Quality Assurance. Job Duties: Maintains assigned schedule as agreed upon at the time of hire, unless otherwise discussed and approved in advance. Follows policies and procedures of the organization. Maintains organized patient records. Maintains NAL Psychiatry Triage Standards of care, including: Completes medications refills Obtains, reviews, prioritizes, and returns patient and provider messages Meet with patients as needed Obtains Vital signs, saliva, and urine specimens Administers injectable medications Attends various meetings as assigned Acts as liaison to pharmaceutical representatives Maintains oversight of sample medications Completes Internal and External Referrals Coordinates with Laboratories Other Duties as assigned. Qualifications: Active, unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant Willingness to get licensed in additional states as needed to support organization growth. Knowledgeable about mental healthcare and psychotropic medications. Personal and professional characteristics include strong critical thinking skills, detail oriented, problem solver, solution-focused, and maintains flexibility and a positive attitude.
