Senior Scheduler – LA Metro – Gateway – ZEB Program (Hybrid) – Los Angeles, CA COMPENSATION&BENEFITS Salary Range: $156,000 to $187,200 annually Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees 401k retirement plan with company matching contribution Paid holidays Paid time off Company-paid life and accidental death&dismemberment (AD&D) benefits Company-paid long-term (LTD) insurance Annual tuition assistance allowance for employees Employee Assistance Program (EAP) POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY KKCS seeks an experienced full-time Senior Scheduler for a Hybrid position in Los Angeles, CA (3 times a week at the project site&2 days remote). The project is with The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), which is leading the charge in transitioning its bus fleet to Zero Emission Buses (ZEB), one of the largest electric bus initiatives in the nation. This ambitious project will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality, and deliver high-quality transit services to Los Angeles County residents and visitors. KKCS is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler (Project Controls&Risk Management) to play a critical role in ensuring the successful scheduling and risk management of this innovative program. Key Responsibilities: Develop and Maintain Project Schedules: Create, maintain, and update comprehensive master schedules for our project with LA Metro’s Zero Emissions Buses program using Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools, ensuring the integration of project milestones, deliverables, and key deadlines. Critical Path Analysis (CPM): Analyze project schedules using the Critical Path Method to identify potential delays and schedule risks, providing recommendations for corrective actions. Project Control and Monitoring: Track project progress against the established schedule, perform time impact analysis (TIA), and implement Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to ensure cost and time control. Risk Management: Lead the risk identification, assessment, and mitigation processes, ensuring risks are documented and addressed through risk registers, schedule risk analysis, and contingency planning. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and LA Metro teams to ensure accurate and timely schedule updates, incorporating inputs from all stakeholders. Reporting and Communication: Provide regular progress reports, lookahead schedules, and performance analysis, including S-curves, bar charts, and cash flow forecasts, to project teams and Metro management. Support Zero Emission Initiatives: Support Metro’s goal of transitioning to a 100% electric bus fleet by ensuring schedules align with emissions reduction targets and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in project scheduling, project controls, and risk management within the transportation, transit, or infrastructure sectors. Experience with bus emissions or electric bus programs is strongly preferred. Software Proficiency: Expertise in Primavera P6 , Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with risk management software is a plus. Certifications: PMP, PMI-SP, or AACE certifications are highly desirable. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in scheduling, project controls, or risk management is an asset. Knowledge: Familiarity with Zero Emission Buses (ZEB) programs, infrastructure planning, and transportation-related environmental initiatives. Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), Critical Path Method (CPM), and Time Impact Analysis (TIA). Key Skills: Strong organizational and scheduling skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-phased transit projects. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of working across teams to coordinate efforts and drive project success. Proven ability to identify schedule risks and provide actionable mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
