DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Youth Center serves youth up to the age of 24 who are currently at-risk of or experiencing homelessness. The Youth Center offers services in an LGBTQ safe and affirming environment and serves as an entry point to assist youth making the transition from homelessness to housing. Our services include meals, clothing, support groups, a charter high school, GED and college prep program, an employment preparation, training and placement program, case management, counseling, a crisis shelter and a transitional living program (TLP). Our community-based programs include services for youth at-home, in school or in systems of care. JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Manager, Care Coordination, the Program Supervisor, Access&Engagement is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the housing navigation and access center programs. This includes developing systems to ensure smooth operations of the program, training, and supervision of employees, overseeing supportive services and working in collaboration with the drop-in center team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist with developing and implementing systems to ensure proper operations of the housing navigation and access center programs. • Provide support and oversight to teams in HMIS/Clarity and Civi. • Supervise program activities, daily engagement, case management, housing navigation, access to CES resources, and transportation. • Coordinate with case managers and other YS staff to provide wraparound support and resources to youth to ensure all aspects of their needs are addressed. • Monitor individual youth and program performance to ensure that deliverables are being met. • Supervise linkage to Youth Services programs including, education, employment, housing, and youth development, and troubleshoot challenges as they occur. • Work with community partners such as The Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership (HHYP), LAHSA, and other organizations. • Particpiate in care coordination meetings and development of case plans to foster retention within the programs for clients at risk of losing access to services. • Maintain and develop databases and report formats to track data and indicators for youth enrollment, participation, and progress. • Develop and maintain supervisory systems that include preparing monthly work schedules and staff call-in logs, regulating staff meetings, facilitating one-on-one meetings, tracking trainings, documenting performance, and maintaining personnel files. • Communicate all program and department guidance, policies, and procedures consistently and effectively and ensure employees are knowledgeable about and adhering to guidance, policies, and procedures. • Develop reporting systems to meet the programs and grant needs and compile monthly reports as required. • Facilitate and participate in staff meetings, planning meetings, and other meetings as needed. • Be on-call at and during specific scheduled times in case of crises in the Youth Center. • Other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • Minimum 3 years’ experience in social service, preferably within the coordinated entry system. • Direct supervisory experience, preferably in social services or a related field. • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. • Able to work evenings, weekends, and on-call hours. • Sensitive to the needs of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender, homeless, and substance using youth. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and other software systems. • Leadership skills as evidenced by the ability to coordinate and/or oversee the successful completion of projects. TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE: • Valid California Driver License with no restrictions and ability to obtain insurance. • Current CPR Certificate.
