About the Role As our Product Counsel I, you'll have responsibilities providing legal guidance on product and marketing development initiatives. Product Counsel I will be the first member of the GoodRx legal team focused solely on marketing and product guidance. You will also provide support to the Privacy and Commercial Legal Teams, including support for the Privacy Program. As Product Counsel, you will own important processes related to marketing and product and provide timely review and guidance from a risk and regulatory perspective. You will be engaged in the full product life cycle by helping assess and provide guidance for new and revamped products and features from early stages of development through launch. You will also provide guidance for our messaging and marketing programs, materials and tactics. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping businesses grow and thrive in the health and technology space. We're looking for someone who is a team player and willing to jump in on tasks of any size. Responsibilities: Advise a sizeable body of product architects on various federal and state regulatory issues, including staying up to date on regulations related to technology, artificial intelligence, and consumer protection (including but not limited to FTC guidelines), as well as state and federal data privacy regulations; Draft, review, update, and overall own the review process for GoodRx's many unique flows and product experiences through proper documentation, ongoing advisement, and go-live assistance each step of the way with an intelligent and highly motivated team of designers and engineers; Serve as the cross-functional liaison between teams across GoodRx (e.g., Product, Privacy, Data, Marketing, Sales, Engineering) to appropriately manage risk, provide pragmatic and actionable legal advice, and ensure each team understands their respective role in managing risk across the business; Provide guidance and advice to GoodRx's various Product and Marketing teams about GoodRx's products and services and build for the future. Stay up-to-date (with the support of GoodRx's legal subject matter experts) on laws and regulations dealing with GoodRx services; analyze laws, regulatory updates, industry trends to proactively advise clients of potential product and marketing impacts; Support various privacy matters including supporting privacy by design, change management, impact assessments, vendor data protection, privacy notices and policies, and the overall Privacy Program; Partner with the Commercial Legal Team in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating other commercial agreements related to product and marketing initiatives. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for product and business teams. Participate as a proactive business partner and build a trusted advisor relationship offering key legal and strategic business input in evolving GoodRx product roadmap and strategy. Skills&Qualifications: You are an attorney with a JD, admission to a state bar in good standing, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant in-house or law firm product counseling or equivalent experience, preferably in healthcare or medtech; You are familiar with and can provide guidance and support for compliance with privacy laws and regulations; You have proficiency in, and passion for, working with technology and have an ability to understand complex operational and business models as well as multiple product use cases quickly; You have a roll-up your sleeves attitude to tackle projects large and small and a collaborative, low-ego approach to collaborating across the organization; You are a strong communicator that is fluent in translating legal advice into actionable guidance for innovative product and marketing teams; and, You can work independently but enjoy collaboration; you like to learn and own expertise on exciting new subject matters and change along with the business. You are able to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectively. At GoodRx, pay ranges are determined based on work locations and may vary based on where the successful candidate is hired. The pay ranges below are shown as a guideline, and the successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business and organizational factors.
