Job Description
Responsibilities: Create a welcoming, engaging classroom space for young children to learn, play and grow. Build relationships with families and coworkers to create a dynamic environment where play and learning happen seamlessly. Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times. Be alert to the needs of children as individuals and as a group. Plan and implement an enriching curriculum that helps move children as individuals and a group toward meeting our stated developmental goals. Work directly with teacher assistant(s) on the application of an appropriate instructional curriculum. Plan and implement activities and projects that support children's learning in the area of Jewish culture, holidays, and values. Work with teachers to set up and maintain the classroom, keeping it orderly and free of clutter. Prepare snacks for children and sit with them while they eat. Follow all Early Childhood and MBJCC Policies detailed in the MBJCC Employee Handbook and the ECA Preschool Staff Handbook. Maintain punctual and consistent attendance. Keep preschool administration informed of any special needs or concerns about individual children. Update all necessary records as required by applicable laws, district policies, and preschool regulations. May administer tests, evaluations, and/or assessments to monitor the progress of individual students. Attend all staff meetings, in-service training, set up/clean up days, and team planning meetings. Fill out all required paperwork in a timely manner, including accident reports, incident reports, curriculum plans, and team meeting reports.
