Description: Position Summary Postdoctoral fellow positions are available for studying the mechanisms of breast cancer brain metastasis. This is an NIH-funded collaboration study. The postdocs will be assigned to Dr. Kaori Yamada's laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology&Regenerative Medicine or Dr. Tohru Yamada's laboratory in the Department of Surgery at the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The Yamada Laboratory in Pharmacology studies regulation mechanisms of vascular function and endothelial barrier integrity. The Yamada Laboratory in Surgery develops strategies for tumor diagnosis and tumor growth inhibition. Both laboratories use in vitro systems, cell biology, molecular biology techniques, and in vivo mouse tumor growth and metastasis models. Duties&Responsibilities: The postdoctoral fellows are expected to design and perform the experiments for the research projects in the Yamada labs. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree for a postdoc position. Extensive experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and transgenic mouse models. Self-motivated and collaborative.
