Job Responsibilities May Include: Jobsite prep, removing debris, preparing tools and materials Excavating and trenching to desired depths along with shoring or bracing trenches Installing different types of pipe including PVC, iron, concrete, and metal pipe, ensuring proper alignment and gradient Measuring and cutting pipe to specifications using saws, torches, and other tools Connecting pipe by either welding, threading, bolting, or other pipe joining techniques Installing other fittings/components such as elbows, valves, manholes, catch basins, couplings, flanges, reducers, etc. Backfill trenches using appropriate equipment and compacting Testing pipe systems for leaks or blockages via pressure tests, air posts, or water tests Jobsite cleanup, removing excess materials and other tasks appointed by foreman Requirements: 2 years of experience in Pipe Laying Possess and have proficiency in using basic tools Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 Certification Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (50 lbs), standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment Good communication skills to interact with supervisors, contractors, and team members What We Offer: Competitive pay based on experience Paid Time Off and Sportsman’s Day Health, dental, vision, and life insurance options OSHA 10 Safety Training Course Company-provided PPE gear Opportunities for growth and career advancement How To Apply: If you are looking to apply for a position with Great Lakes Skilled Trades, you can either apply online at greatlakesskilledtrades.com or give our office a call at (616) 591-9300.
