Position Summary: Pioneering Medicines is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader with deep subject matter expertise in AI/ML applied to drug development, spanning portfolio strategy, operations, preclinical and clinical activities. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally within Pioneering Medicines and across the broader Flagship ecosystem to identify, prioritize, and drive projects from ideation through implementation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and drive strategic initiatives to integrate AI technologies in PM's operations and development processes, ensuring alignment with PM and Flagship’s broader goals. Collaborate with the Explorations team to continuously survey and analyze the state-of-the-art in AI, identifying emerging trends, opportunities, and potential areas of disruption. Work closely with senior leadership and division heads, including R&D, TechOps, and Portfolio Strategy&Operations, to develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy. Vigilantly oversee the execution of the AI strategy, coordinating with the Strategy&Ops team to ensure the seamless orchestration of AI capabilities into existing operational workflows. Establish strong working relationships with FSP teams to leverage their expertise in the rollout of AI implementations. Regular and effective reporting to PM's senior leadership on the progress, opportunities, challenges, and ROI of AI implementations. Stay up-to-date on the latest AI regulatory guidelines and industry best practices, ensuring the organization's adherence to all necessary rules and standards. Minimum Qualifications: Advanced degree in life sciences, engineering, computational science, or a related field, with significant industry experience. Exemplary understanding of AI/ML and its potential in the pharmaceutical landscape. Demonstrable ability to lead, manage, and inspire diverse teams. Strong communication skills, presenting complex concepts to non-experts in a clear, understandable manner. An innovative and strategic thinker, never taking things at face value.
