Kingston Rehabilitation Nursing Center is seeking a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support the rehabilitation team in providing exceptional therapy services. The PTA will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to carry out treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, and document patient progress. The role requires compassion, professionalism, and adherence to rehabilitation standards in line with the company's mission and goals. Job Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality therapy services, including treatment interventions, program implementation, discharge planning, and related documentation, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT). Screen patients to assess the need for evaluation, collaborating with the PT to ensure optimal care. Treat patients to relieve pain and restore function, helping them achieve maximum performance under the direction of the PT. Monitor patient progress, communicate any changes, and adjust treatment plans and modalities as needed under PT supervision. Maintain a courteous and respectful attitude toward patients, ensuring sensitivity to their environment, needs, and cultural background. Complete documentation in an accurate, timely, and thorough manner as required for patient care and billing purposes. Collaborate and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including PTs, to ensure cohesive patient care. Assist with administrative duties to support therapy services and maintain an organized, efficient therapy department. Identify new rehab admissions, inform the PT, and communicate upcoming discharges to the facility staff. Attend care plan meetings, in-service education, and other relevant meetings or training as requested by management. Provide in-service education and training to facility staff when needed. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistant students as appropriate. Follow all policies and procedures related to the daily operation of the rehabilitation department. Uphold a positive, professional working relationship with facility staff, promoting a productive and beneficial environment. Perform additional duties as assigned by therapy management. Qualifications: Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Proficiency in documenting therapy services accurately and efficiently. Flexibility to work PRN hours and adjust to the facility’s scheduling needs. Commitment to providing patient-centered care and maintaining professional standards of practice.
