The Physical Therapist acts as a consultant to various patient clinics, provides instruction to PT support staff, students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members. Therapists may also rotate through our various clinical service areas. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area Experience REQUIRED: New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as a Physical Therapist\ \Employee is expected to progress to a Physical Therapist Clinician II level within two years of employment at VCUHS Experience PREFERRED: Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility Education/training REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy Education/training PREFERRED: Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Independent action(s) required: Patient evaluation and implementation of plan of care, discharge planning. Ordering equipment. Representing department at rounds and discharge conferences. Scheduling and charging patients.
