Pharmacy Technician with a current State of Montana Technician certificate, needed to perform essential job duties while assisting Pharmacists in a retail establishment. Duties: Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types labels for bottles. Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medications. Answers the telephone in a professional manner, identifying themselves as a Technician, and accepts verbal orders for refill prescriptions from medical practitioners or their designated agents and issues refill requests to the prescriber. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Technician will initial and date all invoices with date drugs are received and complete the transmittal for Pharmacist’s approval. Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customers or hospital patients, computes charges, and enters data in computer. Maintains patient profile system. Handles third party billing, re-billing and inquiries. Prepares intravenous (IV) packs. Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods. Helps maintain and clean an orderly pharmacy. Performs related duties, as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. One – three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Technician certification from MT State Board. Knowledge of Pharmacy Computer Systems and Inventory Software. Successful completion of a background check and drug screen upon offer of employment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Accurately operate cash register and credit card machine. Must be able to regularly stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. J-18808-Ljbffr
